Phil Williams Bio
Phil Williams is a local businessman and entrepreneur and currently represents Madison and Limestone Counties in the Alabama House of Representatives.
Born and raised on a small farm in rural Marshall county, Phil graduated from the University of Alabama in Huntsville with a degree in International Business.
A small businessman and entrepreneur, Phil has been involved with the development of several small businesses and has had an impact on our local job market and economy.
Phil began his career as a Contract Specialist for the U.S. Army during the initial days of the “Star Wars” program. Later, Phil and his wife co-founded 3D Research Corporation and built it into one of Inc. Magazines fastest growing companies in both 2004 and 2005. A serial entrepreneur, Phil has continued to foster growth in local technology companies such as Synapse Wireless and Soldier 1 Corporation.
With no previous political experience, Phil ran in the special election for the Alabama Legislature in 2009 and won a highly competitive Republican primary and General election. In Montgomery, Phil has been an outspoken leader in opposing new taxes and has worked to increase funding for our schools. As a leading member of the House Education Ways and Means Committee, Phil has helped start and appropriate funds for our nationally recognized "Pre-K” program. He was also integral to passing the “Alabama Ahead Act” that has brought millions of dollars to Madison and Limestone schools for hands-on technology. Phil was re-elected to the Alabama House in 2010 and 2014 with no Republican or Democratic opposition.
Phil has been married to his wife Lisa Williams for twenty-one years and they have one son. He volunteers his time mentoring small businesses in the Huntsville area.
